Thundering Thanks This Thursday
Hello world!
I would like to take today to thank everyone who has contributed to this production. We have an amazing crew and other people supporting us. Also it's Thanksgiving. Plus now that I've said it here, we don't have to do it in our Oscar speech. But seriously, thanks. Enough cheeseball, here's Dave murdering a turkey.

In other news, Bystander was featured in this quarter's North by Northwestern magazine! Pick up a copy or read the article here.
We're all taking a week off work, but there's still one more week of animating before winter break. Have a great Black Friday everyone!

Racecar / Fan Fic Prequel
In this blog post, we're going to do something different. If you thought last week's haikus were out there, wait till you read on. We've written a description of one of the film's scenes...as a palindrome!

Noodle Strudel Poodle
This was week two of digital painting. A couple of exciting things came from this: we finished our first colored frames and assembled about a second of (rough) animation! We actually have something to show for our work!

There's still oodles of doodles to be done, so stay tuned for more behind the scenes pictures!

One Small Step For Man...
The name of the game this week is Digital Painting! We had our first digital painters come in and learn the tools of the trade from Neil, then practice painting some basic backgrounds. We should have our first fully colored frames next week!

Hunting & Gathering
We're excited to be writing the first weekly update for "Bystander," our traditional 2D animation short! Remember to check back at least weekly to stay up to date on the creation of our film.

Welcome!
Welcome to the official blog of "Bystander!" We’d like to start off our blog with introducing you to our project and site...
Bystander is a traditional 2D animation created using the digital ink and paint method. This short film follows a man who gets promoted--and sent to New York City--only to find that it's not exactly what he expected. We are producing this project through Studio 22, a Northwestern University student-led production company, for their 2011 Special Projects Grant.
Since this animation is a year-long project, we want to keep everyone updated on our progress! And that's where this blog comes in. We'll be posting frequent updates on our status, along with character drawings, finished frames, photos of the production, and videos documenting how we're making the animation and fun how-to clips about drawing our characters. We're also sporting a nifty progress bar at the bottom of the page!
Also, Like us on Facebook.
So come back often, there will be lots of information and goodies to keep you at bay until our June release!
